Frequently asked questions
Is fire safety training mandatory in Germany?
Yes. Under § 6 of the German Workplace Ordinance (ArbStättV) and ASR A2.2, employers must instruct all employees on fire prevention, behaviour in the event of fire, escape routes and fire extinguishers – before they start work, then at least once a year and whenever there are significant changes. Young people under 18 are instructed every six months.
Can the training take place online?
Yes, if certain conditions are met: the content must fit the company, questions must be possible and understanding must be checked. That is why our eLearning ends with a final test, and you can reach us by phone or email with questions. Site-specific points such as your escape routes, the assembly point and the location of fire extinguishers should be added at your workplace.
Why is the certificate in German?
The training is documented for German authorities, the statutory accident insurance and insurers. A German certificate and attendance list avoid any questions during an inspection – the learning itself takes place in English.
